Wonderful Sip

Since I had my Misti out already (from the last post), why not make a whole bunch of other things!

I wanted to use my coffee stamps to make something summer-like and colorful. I combined three different stamp sets to make this:

Of course I had to make matching envelopes too.

Succulent Revival

My older sister and her husband came home last week for our younger sister's wedding. She caught me red-handed as the succulent neglecter. I had no idea how my plants were all dying... guess I haven't been a very good gardener lately. Nonetheless, with her help. my succulents are back in recovery and good shape! I can't wait for my baby plants to grow into a bigger size!

With that, I decided to make a succulent card:

I also kinda went on a Misti-craze and made a whole set of card! I used several different shades of greens/mint. Then, I double stamped smaller plant with some light purple ink.

I really like the layering of the inks. I purposely didn't blend the ink and hoping for an effect like this. I'm so happy with the results.

Birthday Sprinkles

I made this card for Ashley's birthday (about a month ago) using the new PTI's Just Dessert stamp set.

My favorite part about this card is the texture. It's very settle, so I'm not sure if you can see it in the pictures. There are some sprinkle-like dimensions/texture on the cake. I did this by stamping out the image, then stamp it again in VersaMark and clear embossing. I also did it for the strawberries.

Breaking into my kit! (finally...)

Thank you Simon Says Stamp for featuring me in your Designer’s Spotlight for last week's posts!

This is my second time in the spotlight. This made me so happy!

Ok, so I finally broke int to January My Monthly Hero from Hero Arts. I also got the additional stamp set, You are my Happy. It has such wonderful sentiments; but, somehow I misplaced it. So sad.

My sister's wedding is a week away and I still haven't made a card for her, so I thought this kit would be perfect! And I made this card:

It's a no-bulk shaker card. For the shaker component, I added additional glitter to what's in the kit already.

Doodling Feathers

Working on some changes in life and haven't had much time to post. I can't wait to post more in the up coming weeks about some projects I've been working on.

First up - doodling feathers:
To be honest, I'm not a fan of the doodling/coloring thing that's been so super popular these days. I see a lot of adult coloring books everywhere. The designs are interesting but I'm more of a simple and clean design person. The doodle and color combo has too may lines and colors; it's so very distracting to me. So when PTI came out with their "What the Doodle" line, I was not very impressed. However, I decided to give it a chance and bought the feather set anyway. Surprising, it grew on me quickly.

The feathers and background were done with Zig Clean Color Real Brush. I also mixed in some gold from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set to give the background some shine. The background looked terrible at first, but it went perfectly with the feather die cuts on top. On the feather I embossed the detailing in white. I also added a plain vellum feather and gold/white twine to give some softness to the bright colors. Lastly, "thinking of you" was embossed with Rangers liquid platinum (love this color!).
